Tour to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá

Salt deposits in Zipaquirá were created 250 million years ago when the Andes were formed, “The Salt Cathedral” was built in the heart of the mountain of salt, 180 meters underground.

At the mine, we will spend about 1 hour inside and you will be impressed not only by the amazing engineering work, but also by the religious meaning. In the cathedral, we will progress through the Stations of the Cross. At each station you will see a symbolic representation of events from Jesus' last journey before his crucifixion.

After Salt mine, we will take a walk around Zipaquirá where you will have the chance to buy some traditional handicrafts, take some pictures, or simply delight the unique atmosphere of the town.
